Mysore/Mysuru: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) celebrated the birth anniversary of great physicist Albert Einstein at their campus by conducting a day-long workshop for 40 faculties of the school and Institute of Management on Sunday last. The day is also celebrated as international Pi day (3/14 Pi Day in month/day format).
Harish K. Machaia, a noted orator, held the audience spell-bound with his inspiring lecture intermingled with excellent videos, quizzes and games. He spoke about next century pedagogy and intellectual discoveries that can be brought out beyond the covers of the syllabus.
Examples were given about every day magic in numbers and contextualise the same with language skills and help students gain knowledge regarding places, Geography, Science and History.
He called upon children to read newspapers, technical magazines and to restrict use of screen time using digital devices.
The workshop also covered the importance of oral communication skills, body language, critical thinking skills, collaborative skills and development of leadership skills in the students.
Teachers were informed to enable students to learn and reflect to situations at individual level, institutional level, industry level and Indian/ National level and international level.
Earlier, BVB Secretary P.S. Ganapathy, who presided, detailed the need for conducting such workshops to enable students to face challenges and become successful in the dynamic world.
School Principal B. Vijaya Narasimham and Administrator Sudhindra Raj were present.
