Mysuru: Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Vijayanagar, Mysuru has commenced a one-year post-graduate diploma course in journalism.
Disclosing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here this morning BVB, Mysuru Chairman Dr. A.V. Narasimha Murthy said that the course would cover six subjects to be taught spanning 188 hours and proposed to start from November to be held from 6 pm to 9 pm on Saturdays and 9.30 am to 1.30 pm on Sundays at the Bhavan’s Priyamvada Birla Institute of Management at the premises of BVB here.
The course covers the history of journalism, professional and language skills, legal aspects, collection of data, reporting, editing, copyrights, marketing, managing social media and corporate journalism.
Each candidate has to submit a project report by undergoing appropriate internship in any media establishment, he explained.
Japanese course: Japanese Tutor Vanishri said that BVB has started the 3rd batch of Japanese language course of 20-week duration. She further said that the course has drawn a good response with two batches already completed. She contended that learning Japanese is very useful as there are many companies in India with Japanese collaboration.
