Bengaluru: The by-election to 430 vacant seats in 188 Gram Panchayats (GPs) across the State will be held on July 23.
Accordingly, the by-election to 9 seats in 9 different GPs of Mysuru district will be held on July 23.
The Election Commission will issue the notification for the polls on July 6 and the last date for filing of nomination papers is July 12. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on July 13 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination is July 15. The voting, if necessary, will take place from 7am to 5pm on July 23. The re-poll, if found necessary, will be held on July 25 and the counting of votes will be taken up on July 26 at the respective taluk centres.
The by-polls will take place for one seat each in Devanur and Devarayashettipura Gram Panchayats in Nanjangud taluk, Hemmige GP in T. Narasipur taluk, Jabagere, Tattekere and Kademanuganahalli GPs in Hunsur taluk, Habbapura GP in K.R. Nagar taluk, Madapura and N. Begur GPs in H.D. Kote taluk.
With the announcement of by-poll schedule, Model Code of conduct will be in effect from July 6 to 26 in the jurisdictions of the GPs where the by-polls will be held, according to a press release.
