Call for additional Police Station at Udayagiri to curb rising crime

Mysore/Mysuru: Congress Minority Cell Secretary Syed Faroq has urged the State Government to approve the establishment of an additional Police Station or sub-station within the Udayagiri limits, under the jurisdiction of the Mysuru City Police.

Faroq emphasised that managing law and order has become increasingly difficult in Udayagiri due to a growing population and increased criminal activities such as robbery and other crimes that disrupt peace and harmony.

“With shops, including late-night tea stalls in the Narasimharaja Constituency, becoming hubs for youth engaging in online gambling, the situation has worsened. Moreover, youths addicted to narcotic drugs are often involved in violent altercations, resulting in brutal attacks and even murders,” he said.

“Some miscreants also cause trouble by parking their vehicles in front of residents’ gates and houses, making it difficult for women and children to move around freely in the area,”                          he added.

Urging immediate action from the Chief Minister, Home Minister, MLA and senior Police officers, Faroq mentioned that a memorandum has been submitted to the City Police Commissioner through the Jamiyat Ulma-e-Hind organisation.
