Mysore/Mysuru: The day-long contact programme and subject-based training for Souharda Co-operators, organised by the Mysuru Regional Office of Karnataka State Souharda Federal Co-operative Limited, Bengaluru, was held at Maya’s Kings Kourt Hotel near Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa Circle (Metropole Circle) on JLB Road here yesterday.
Speaking as a chief guest on the occasion, former Vice-President of Karnataka State Souharda Federal Co-operative Limited, H.V. Rajeev, who is also a former MUDA Chairman, opined that the number of Souharda Co-operative Societies should increase in order to push the growth of Co-operative sector.
Stressing on the need for Co-operators to properly understand the Co-operative laws, rules and regulations, Rajeev said that a law making it mandatory for Co-operative Societies to declare their assets, is forthcoming and in this backdrop, a thorough understanding of laws is necessary.
“The Co-operative Societies should stretch their functioning and take new steps for advancement and growth. This would also help in larger economic activities in the Co-operative sector,” he maintained.
Earlier, Regional Officer Guruprasad Bangera welcomed. Souharda Federal Co-operative Limited, Bengaluru’s Managing Director Sharanagouda G. Patil delivered the keynote address.
The Co-operative Limited’s Vice-President A.R. Prasannakumar, Directors B.H. Krishna Reddy & Bharathi G. Bhat, former Director Somaiah, Mysuru, Mandya, Kodagu Districts Federal Co-operative Limited President S.R. Narayana Rao and others were present.
