Canara Bank conducts Financial Inclusion camp

Mysore/Mysuru: Financial Inclusion and Education are two important elements in the Reserve Bank of India’s  (RBI’s) developmental role. As per RBI directives, Financial Literacy Week-2020 was observed from Feb.10 on the theme of “Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)”. 

The aim of this initiative was to create awareness about financial products and services, good financial practices, going digital and consumer protection.

With a view to educate people on the financial inclusion, Canara Bank had organised a camp to create awareness among people on financial matters at its Nazarbad branch on Feb. 15. During the awareness programme, Canara Bank disbursed 107 loans amounting to Rs. 2.46 crore. 

Ananth Raj Udupa, LDCM, Lead Bank, Mysuru, informed the participants about various Government-sponsored Schemes with specific focus on Prime Minister’s Mudra Yojana. He also educated the gathering about safety aspects in operating accounts. 

K.B. Geetha, AGM, Regional Head, Canara Bank, Mysuru, spoke on the importance of various schemes and urged the people to make good use of the banking facilities for improving the business and also timely repayment of loans. 

P.S.Umesh, Divisional Manager and K. Bhaskar, Senior Manager, were present, according to a press release from the Bank.
