Anirban Roy Choudhary (CT & BWC) and Maria Rony (Canara Bank) won the coveted Men’s and Women’s Singles titles on the concluding day of Canara Bank Cup Karnataka State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament-2018, conducted by MDTTA at the University Gymnasium Hall here on Sunday.
In the Men’s Singles final, Anirban Roy Choudhary staved off the challenge put up by Shreyal K. Telang 13-15, 11-6, 17-15, 11-7, 12-10 to bag the title. In the Women’s Singles event, Canara Bank’s Maria Rony, playing a superior game, beat V. Kushi (BNM) 14-12, 11-7, 11-6, 12-10 to bag the title.
Anargya Manjunath (MSSTTA) bagged a grand double when she won the Junior Girls Singles title (she had won the Sub-Junior Girls tile on Saturday). The prizes were given away to the winners by Muralidhar, DGM, Canara Bank, Mysuru, Rtn. M. Perumal, President, Rotary Ivory City, Mysore, S. Sridhar, Hon. Secretary, Mysore Insurance Institute, Nagendra Muralidhar, Director, Mysore Chess Centre and Sunil L. Baliga, President, MDTTA.
