Mysore/Mysuru: Canara Bank Regional Office, Mysuru, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, disbursed ‘Canara Vidya Jyothi’ scholarships to SC and ST girl students at a programme organised here recently.
Speaking after disbursing scholarships worth Rs. 4.25 lakh to 117 meritorious girl students of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts belonging to SC and ST communities, Mysuru Zilla Panchayat Project Director K. Susheela urged the students to work hard to build their career in today’s competitive world.
Canara Vidya Jyothi scheme, a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of the Canara Bank, was introduced by Canara Bank to encourage education among girl children belonging to SC and ST communities by extending financial support.
Addressing the students, Margadarshi Bank General Manager Venkatachalapati, who was the chief guest for the event, lauded the efforts of Canara Bank and encouraged the students to diligently work towards building their foundation for life through education together with general knowledge.
Canara Bank Regional Office Assistant General Manager K.B. Geetha who presided over the event apprised the students about various schemes available in the Bank such as education loans and other services.
Regional Manager H.P. Giridhar, Senior Manager A.V. Yeshwanth, Officers H.B. Lalitanjali, Jayaraj, Branch Managers, teachers and parents were present.
