Candle light jatha held for AIDS victims

Mysuru: As part of International Candle Light Memorial Day, members of Ashodaya Samiti took out a candle light march in city yesterday evening in memory of AIDS and HIV victims.

The march which commenced from Hardinge Circle culminated at Gandhi Square.

Speaking after flagging off the march, University of Mysore Economics Department Chairperson Prof. Indira stressed on the need for treating HIV affected equally in the society. She also appealed the society to give an opportunity for HIV affected persons to lead a happy life. Ashodaya Samiti Secretary Lakshmi in her address, underlined the need for launching a movement to take up the cause of HIV patients.

Advocating for more measures to prevent the spread of the disease, Lakshmi appealed for launching initiatives that can prevent the spread of the disease.

Ashodaya Samiti members Madhumitha, Pranati Prakash, Pratima, Akram Pasha and others were present.
