Mysuru: With the countdown for this year’s Dasara having already begun, the Forest Department will be conducting the cannon firing test for Dasara elephants at the Mysore Palace tomorrow.
The test will be held at the parking space near the Varaha Gate of the Palace.
All 15 elephants will undergo the test to get accustomed to the booming sound of the cannons.
Every year, the cannons are fired for 21 times outside the Palace fort to signal the beginning of Jumboo Savari.
A group of 22 CAR personnel have already been training the cannon firing and they will be put to test tomorrow.
