Four gold bangles worth Rs. 1.2 lakh recovered
Mysuru – Devaraja Police, have arrested a car driver for stealing gold valuables of customer and have recovered four gold bangles weighing about 40 grams, worth Rs. 1.2 lakh from him.
The arrested car driver has been identified as Manja alias Manjegowda, 33, a resident of Srirampura in Bengaluru.
It is reported that the couple from Dharwad, who had hired the car from Bengaluru, arrived in Mysuru on Mar. 30 and parked the car on Narayana Shastri Road and went to Sangeetha Lodge on the road to enquire the availability of room by keeping the luggage in the car.
After taking the room on rent, the couple took the luggage from the car and checked into the room. When they opened the luggage, they found the purse containing four gold bangles kept in a bag missing and lodged a complaint at Devaraja Police Station in this regard. Devaraja Police, who registered the case, took up the investigation and took car driver Manja into their custody.
During interrogation, the accused car driver revealed that he had brought the couple from Bengaluru to Mysuru and when the couple went into the lodge to book a room, he (Car driver) lifted the purse containing gold bangles.
Devaraja Inspector S. Nagesh supervised SI K. Lepaksha, staff Shadakshari, Praveen Kumar, K.S. Anjaneya Prakash, Manjunath and Umesh in the nabbing operation.
