Mysuru: Carmel Catholic Association (CCA), Mysuru, along with Mysore Chess Centre, has organised the CCA PAZZO Inter-School Chess Competition on Oct. 20 at Christ Public School in Bogadi for school students in three different categories — Std. 1-4, Std. 5-7 and Std. 8-10.
The Tournament will be inaugurated at 9 am by Vikram Muthanna, Managing Editor, Star of Mysore. Prof. N.K. Lokanath, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, will be the chief guest.
Rev. Fr. Edward William Saldanha, Secretary, MDES and Rev. Fr. Renish P. Varghese, Educational Secretary, St. Paul’s Province, Mysuru, will be the guests of honour. Prof. Joseph Mathew, President, Carmel Catholic Association, will preside.
In all, 50 trophies will be given in each category based on the points scored by the participants. Participation certificates will be awarded to all the participants.
More than 800 students have registered so far and the registration has been closed. There will be no spot registrations at the venue. Reporting time for the tourney is 8.30 am.
Valedictory
The valedictory function will be held at 5 pm in the same premises.
Sam Cherian Kumbukattu, Chairman, Schevaran Group and Immediate Past-Chair, CII Mysuru, CII Karnataka State Council and MSME Panel Convenor, Board Member, Swiss-India South Regional Council, will be the chief guest. Grand Master Thej Kumar, the first Grand Master from Karnataka, will distribute the prizes.
