Carmel Fest at Nanjangud

Nanjangud: “India is no longer a developing nation but is one among the topmost countries in the world in the field of scientific research and technology, especially in space exploration,” said Block Education Officer (BEO) C.N. Raju.

He was speaking after inaugurating an exhibition held as part of ‘Carmel Fest 2019’ at Carmel English School in Nanjangud recently and launching a model satellite – Chandrayana -2 designed by student S. Jillian, a Class X student.

He opined that this type of Fest brings out the hidden talents and creativity of the students and helps them develop their knowledge scientifically and technologically apart from academics.

More than 500 students from 1st standard to 10th standard participated in the exhibition which was based on different themes including natural resources, agriculture, organic farming and environmental pollution. 

The exhibition was unique with working models of science, creative art and craft, food, culture and festivals of different States, heritage of Mysuru and Karnataka and planetarium, constructed by the students under guidance of Tr. Vijaya. The efforts, motivation and hard work of every staff and student were remarkable and highly appreciated by the parents and visitors alike.

On this occasion, toppers of SSLC exam 2019-20 were felicitated and subject-wise toppers were also honoured.

Sr. Philomena welcomed. Nazia Firdose proposed a vote of thanks. Sathyaraju compered the event. Head Mistress Sr. Tresilda and Secretary Sr. Florine Pinto were present.
