Mysore/Mysuru: The 31st carol singing competition organised by Carmel Catholic Association (CCA), Mysuru, will be held on Dec. 10 at Teresian College auditorium in Siddarthanagar.
Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan yesterday, CCA member Sade Bose said the day-long competition will be inaugurated by Star of Mysore and Mysuru Mithra Managing Editor Vikram Muthanna at 8.30 am on Sunday.
Apostolic Administrator of Mysore Diocese Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras will be the chief guest. CCA Advisor Rev. Fr. Rijo Thomas CMI will be the guest of honour. CCA President Prof. Joseph Mathew will preside.
Valedictory function will be held at 6.30 pm in which University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof. N.K. Lokanath and Mandya Diocese Bishop Most Rev. Mar Sebastian Adayantharath will be the chief guests. Mandya Bishop will also deliver the Christmas message and valedictory address. Rev. Fr. Augustine Payampallil CMI, Provincial, St. Pauls Province, Mysuru and CCA Patron, will be the guest of honour. Prof. Joseph Mathew will preside over the event.
The contest, with the theme ‘Christmas carols,’ will be held under 12 categories in English, Kannada and other regional languages. More than 4,000 carollers will be taking part.
