Mysuru: Marking World Cartoonists’ Day, an exhibition of legendary personalities’ autographed caricatures created by SOM Cartoonist and Fulbrighter M.V. Nagendra Babu has been organised on May 5 and 6 at Mysore Art Gallery, 12th Cross, Ramanuja Road here from 10 am to 5 pm.
Social Activist K. Raghuram will inaugurate the expo on May 5 at 10.30 am. Corporator M.V. Ramprasad and Sculptor L. Shivalingappa will be present.
Profile: Mysore Vasudeva Rao Nagendra Babu, who commenced his career as a cartoonist for Star of Mysore, has created more than 8,000 cartoons so far. He has represented India as a Cultural Ambassador to Taiwan for one year.
In recognition of his expertise as a cartoonist, he has won the Fulbright Award and is the only Indian cartoonist to bag this honour.
Babu is a Life Member of AP Cartoonists Association, USA and has organised expos in USA, Taiwan and Singapore.
