Cartoonist excels in Badminton

Mysuru: Noted cartoonist B.V. Panduranga Rao participated in the 3rd National Veterans Sports & National Games Badminton Tournament held at Nashik recently.

He has won first prize in Doubles and third prize in Singles in the 80-plus age group.

Rao took part in yet another Senior Citizens Get-together Badminton Tournament held at Salem on Nov. 13 and 14 and   claimed Runners Trophy in both Doubles and  Singles category in 80-plus age group.

The 81-year-old is practicing Badminton for the past 55 years without break and has won many prizes participating in numerous Veterans Tournaments at State and National-level.

Multifarious, Rao played Cricket at All India level Cricket Tournaments and was Madhya Pradesh State Panel Cricket Umpire too.

Rao is a retired Engineer from Bhilai Steel Plant. He was born in Mysuru and studied at Chamundipuram Middle School and Hardwicke High School before continuing his studies in Bengaluru. Rao is a cartoonist by hobby and has etched his name at Global level by winning awards at International Cartoons Contests.
