Jumping parole by just a day has led a murder convict to face another charge of jumping parole.
Tausif alias Tausif Khan, a resident of Haleem Nagar in city was lodged in the City Central Prison after being convicted in a murder case. But, Tausif, who came out of jail on a 90-day parole, was to surrender to the prison authorities by 5 pm yesterday after the expiry of parole.
But as Tausif did not surrender before the deadline, Jailer Shivakumar lodged a complaint last evening with the Mandi Police who instantly registered an FIR.
But Tausif, who was reportedly unaware of an FIR registered against him, however, surrendered at the Mysuru Central Prison at 7 am this morning when he learnt of the FIR against him, it is learnt.
