Casino Developers with a Strong Global Reputation

Casino game development is not as talked about in business circles as things like e-commerce or technology sales, but it’s a huge industry based all over the world. While some developers have focused on the smaller scale and local region, some have become international staples. Today we’re looking at just a few that have made a mark globally.

Playtech

Although the official establishment date of Playtech is all the way back in 1999, the company as we know it now looks very different from back then. Like many developers, Playtech offers a range of different things like card games and bingo but are most well-known for the quality of its slot games. You can see this quality for yourself if you try the Gem Heat slot online plus all the titles in their famous Fire Blaze collection and the vast number of games in the growing Age of the Gods series.

What has set Playtech apart in the eyes of players recently are the various official licenses it has picked up for movie and TV show properties. So far, they have produced slot games based on the Rocky franchise, several from The Walking Dead and the massive Breaking Bad. They have become one of the go-to places for license holders to have a slot version of their property made.

Ezugi

Compared to many other developers, Ezugi are a group that are relatively new to casino development, only opening its doors in 2012. With that said, they have made a big name for themselves as part of Evolution’s growing portfolio, largely thanks to a big focus on game formats that were originally more of a regional specialty.

In particular, they’ve found great success with Indian games such as Andar Bahar, a local staple of many regions on the subcontinent at least as popular as Blackjack elsewhere. Between this and other games for the Asian market, such as multiple versions each of the Indian Teen Patti and the dice game Sic Bo originally from China, they have made a name for themselves amongst Asian players.

Evolution

Speaking of Evolution, the main parent company have plenty of weight behind their name around the world as well. While they are far from the only group producing live casino games, they have certainly become the most famous for it. They became an established part of the industry mainly thanks to the game show style of many of their live offerings such as Dream Catcher or Crazy Time.

In recent years, they’ve also become well-known as one of the first groups in the industry to experiment with both VR and AR technology in their games. They made major industry headlines back in 2021 with the release of Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt, a sort-of sequel to the classic Gonzo’s Quest slot where the player could see the host overlayed onto the graphics and see a full 360-degree environment while they were playing.

Of course, these are just a selection of the many huge developers out there, and with the pace at which new games get created, we could see the next industry giant rise up before we know it.
