Cattle allegedly being transported to slaughter house rescued

Nanjangud: The activists of Rashtra Rakshana Pade, who stopped two goods vehicles which were allegedly transporting cattle near Muddahalli in the taluk to a slaughter house in Kerala, have handed over cattle to the Police.

On Monday early morning, Rashtra Rakshana Pade Taluk President Mahadevaswamy and others, who noticed seven cattle heads being transported in two goods vehicles near Muddahalli, stopped the vehicles and questioned those inside the vehicles.

After confirming that the cattle were being transported to a slaughter house, they immediately informed the Police, who arrived at the spot, rescued the cattle and seized both the goods vehicles. A case was registered at Nanjangud Rural Police Station.

Counter complaint                                                                                                              

Meanwhile, Kaleel of Saragur has lodged a counter complaint pertaining to the case.

In his complaint, Kaleel has stated that he is involved in agriculture at Hallare village and was taking the cattle for agricultural activities during which his vehicles were stopped by three persons near Muddahalli who assaulted him. Nanjangud Rural Police, who have registered a FIR are investigating.
