Mysore/Mysuru: Centenarian Dakshayanamma Shivakumarswamy, mother of Sigma Hospital Managing Director S. Gnanashankar, inaugurated the National Doctors’ Day celebrations at Sigma Hospital in city yesterday by lighting the traditional lamp and blessing all the doctors with a bouquet of fruits and nuts.
In his welcome address, Gnanashankar said that doctors are given the status next to God ‘Vaidyo Narayano Harihi’ to serve the mankind for a long and healthy living. Even as technology improves, doctors are serving the society without discriminating on caste, creed and in an economical way in Sigma Hospital through Government’s Ayushman Bharath Health Scheme, cashless private insurance and from NGO support.
Dr. Rajeshwari Madappa said that doctors, who are highly educated, understand how technology improves to treat patients successfully. Dr. G. Siddesh proposed a vote of thanks.
