‘Centre working in industrialists favour’

CITU General Secretary Tapan Sen alleges at BSNL Employees Union meet

Mysuru: The schemes and the policies of the Central Government are completely anti-farmer and anti-labour, lambasted CITU (Centre of Indian Trade Unions) General Secretary Tapan Sen. He was speaking after inaugurating the four-day, 9th All India Convention organised by BSNL Employees Union at Jayamma Govindegowda Kalyan Mantap in Kuvempunagar here yesterday.

The Central Government in order to encourage the Ambani Group is planning to close down many telecom companies including BSNL in the country and planning schemes in favour of capitalists, he charged.

Even though the price of petrol can be brought down, the Government is not willing to do it. The Government’s main aim is to close down public sector companies and favour the Ambani and other private sector companies. This is nothing short of exploiting those working in the public sector, he said.

When asked to waive farm loans, Prime Minister Modi asks the farmers, ‘does money grow on trees,’ but industrialists have loans to the tune of Rs.5,526 million. Just to return the favour to Ambani and Adani who had contributed to his campaign expenses, Modi is forgetting the interest of the ordinary people and favouring them, he said.

BSNL Gen. Secretary P. Abhimanyu speaking said that the Centre is adopting anti-people’s policies. Modi Govt. is favouring Ambani to monopolise Telecom sector. After entry of Jio, many companies have stopped their operations. A few of the companies have merged with others. BSNL is working under such difficult conditions, he added.
