Mysuru: Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) had organised public grievances meet at its Sub-Divisional Office in Ramakrishnanagar here this morning. About 20 residents, mostly from rural areas, participated in the meet.
The meeting was chaired by CESC Superintending Engineer (SE) Narasimhegowda. Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) S.B. Anita, Assistant Engineers Suresh, Y. Muheer Ahmed and Junior Engineer Thimmaraju were present.
Ashok Narayan from Nimishanbanagar observed that during power failure, the linemen are seen working in the dark. He suggested that fluorescent jackets could be provided to them for identification. Narasimhegowda assured to consider the suggestion.
Siddaraju from Marballi alleged that street lights were on during day time to which, the Superintending Engineer pointed out that Gram Panchayat was responsible to monitor the street lights.
Papanna from Kotehundi complained that low-lying power line in burial ground was posing danger, to which the SE assured to rectify the problem.
Speaking to Star of Mysore later, Narasimhegowda said that a mobile app Urja Mitra could be downloaded to register complaints and also to receive SMS on power interruptions. He asked power consumers to register their mobile numbers with any CESC office or Bill Collection Centres.
