CESC offers power tariff rebate to industries

Mysuru/Mysore: A discussion with the Industries Association and representative of industries in the jurisdiction of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), Mysuru was held at the CESC Corporate Office. Over 200 members participated in the event. 

The meeting was chaired by CESC Managing Director Dr. H.N. Gopalakrishna and the discussion focussed on implementation of Special Incentive Scheme to high tension consumers, touch point coordination between CESC and Industries Association and representative of industries, quality of power supply and interruptions and line clear for maintenance/ improvement works. 

Initially there was a power-point presentation on the nature of power supply to industries under various time slots from 6 am to 10 am, 10 am to 6 pm, 6 pm to 10 pm and 10 pm to 6 am. 

Any excess energy consumed by the eligible consumers during the non- peak period between 10 am and 6 pm, over and above the average base consumption as stated, will be allowed a discount of Re.1 per unit in the bill, to the eligible consumers.

Further, the eligible consumers will be allowed an incentive of Rs.2 per unit in the bill for the energy consumed during the period between 10 pm and 6 am as against the normal rebate of Re.1. While big industrialists and IT companies were informed of the rebate, small scale industries and medium scale industries to demanded the same rebate from CESC.
