Mysore/Mysuru: A CESC staff (OVERSEER) was killed on the spot when a truck hit the two-wheeler and ran over him on JP Nagar Ring Road this morning. The accident is said to have taken place between 7.30 am and 8.30 am.
The deceased has been identified as Harish Rao (58), a staff at the Chamundipuram Sub-Division CESC Service Station in city. A native of Virajpet in Kodagu, he was a resident of Ramabai Nagar in city. He leaves behind his wife Savitha and sons Arjun Rao and Sai Krishna Rao.
Harish, who was on night shift, completed his work and left the Office on his bike to his house. When he was proceeding towards Ramabai Nagar on the Ring Road near JP Nagar, a truck hit the bike from behind resulting in Harish falling from the bike and the truck ran over him killing him on the spot.
KR Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case, seized the truck and took the truck driver into their custody. DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and ACP (Traffic) Parashuramappa also visited the spot.
Post-mortem was conducted at MMC&RI mortuary this morning and the body was handed over to the family members.
