Sir,
I was served with electricity bill on 12th April, 2021 and 12th May, 2021, pertaining to my meter number 4NEH607 by the CESC lineman. I found discrepancies in the above bills.
The total number of units consumed during 1 month period was shown as consumption for 2 months period and subsequently the consumption for 2 months period was shown as consumption for 1 month. Hence, while charging as per the slab, the CESC has erred in billing the same and the total difference of amount of Rs. 200 has been charged in excess.
I had been to the CESC Office on 23rd May, 2021 for the rectification of the bill, but I did not get a convincing reply from the concerned staff. I met the concerned AEE and was directed to meet the concerned person to sort out the discrepancy. But, I felt nobody was serious and everyone was passing on the buck.
Later on, when I went to meet the AEE, he was busy in a meeting. Because of the prevailing lockdown I could not wait little longer, so I handed over the bills along with a letter of my grievances to the AEE office assistant to hand over the same to the AEE for suitable action.
I had no other alternative but to make the payment by cheque for fear of disconnection. I hope, the concerned AEE shall take necessary action and account for deduction of the extra amount charged.
