Rs. 13 lakh worth gold chains recovered
Mysore/Mysuru: A special team comprising personnel from K.R. Sub-Division Crime Detection Squad, Saraswathipuram and Ashokapuram Police Station, on Oct. 29, have arrested a chain snatcher and have recovered gold chains worth Rs. 13 lakh.
During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of committing chain snatching along with his accomplice in Mysuru city and Mandya district. Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered gold chains weighing 290 grams and worth Rs. 13 lakh from him.
Following the arrest, the Police have solved one case each in Saraswathipuram, Vijayanagar, Kuvempunagar and Srirangapatna Police Stations and two cases each in Vidyaranyapuram and Mandi Police Stations.
DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna and KR Sub-Division ACP S.E. Gangadharaswamy guided Saraswathipuram Inspector C.M. Ravindra, Sub-Inspector M.K. Smitha and staff P.J. Raju, Narayana Shetty, H.J. Lokesh, Mohan Kumar, Raghavendra, Umesh, Manju, Basavaraju, Manyal, Pavan, Ravikumar, Mahesh, Sagar, Suresh, Harishkumar, Venkatesh, Srinivas, Somashekar, Shilpa and Harish in the nabbing and recovery operation.
