55 gram gold chain recovered, two-wheeler seized
Mysore/Mysuru: Kuvempunagar Police have arrested a chain-snatcher and have recovered a 55 gram gold chain besides seizing a bike used for the crime.
The accused has been identified as Rangaswamy, a resident of Chamarajanagar.
On Apr. 23, Rangaswamy had snatched the gold chain of one Mahadevamma, who was walking near Madhuvana Park and had fled from the spot. Mahadevamma later lodged a complaint with Kuvempinagar Police, who had registered a case.
On the same night, Rangaswamy was found quarrelling with public over petty issues near a Kalyana Mantap in Devaiahanahundi when Constables Srinivas and Mukundegowda arrived at the spot and enquired, during which the Cops came to know that he was a known offender.
Police said that Rangaswamy confessed of snatching a gold chain near Madhuvana Park.
KR Sub-Division ACP Ramesh Kumar guided Kuvempunagar Inspector Yogesh, Sub-Inspectors Gopal and Radha and staff Manjunath, Anand, Hazarath Ali, Suresh and Nagesh in the nabbing and seizing operation.
