Mysuru: The Fourth AFM and JMFC Court, on Mar.17, has sentenced two chain-snatchers to two years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.5,000 for snatching a 15 grams gold chain of a girl on July 31, 2015, in Gokulam 3rd Stage here.
The chain-snatchers, who were sentenced to jail, have been identified as 25-year-old Adil Pasha of KHB Colony in Kalyangiri and 24-year-old Syed Aleem of Shanthinagar in city.
V.V. Puram Police, who had registered a case in this regard, conducted investigation and submitted a charge-sheet against the two to the Court.
The Court, which heard the arguments, found the two guilty of the crime, sentenced them to jail besides imposing fine.
The accused will have to undergo an additional two months simple imprisonment, if they fail to pay the fine. Public Prosecutor C. Thammanna argued on behalf of the Government.
