Chamarajanagar: A 26-year-old-youth, who had gone on a tour along with his friends was drowned in Pondicherry Beach after getting caught to high tides. The deceased youth is B. Deepu, son of Angadi Basappa of Harave village, who was working at a private firm in Bengaluru.
Deepu, along with eight others, had gone on a tour to Pondicherry and was playing in the beach, when high tides swept away Deepu and three others into the sea.
While, Deepu was drowned, three others including a girl were saved and the condition of the girl is said to be critical, while two others are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Pondicherry.
The body of Deepu was brought to Harave on Sunday night and the last rites were performed at the family’s farm land on Monday morning.
