Championship Dog Shows & Obedience Trials poster released

Mysuru, Oct. 18 (GA&KS)- Canine Club of Mysore, affiliated to Kennel Club of India (KCI), has organised 11th and 12th Championship Dog Shows and Obedience Trials on Oct. 26 at Scouts and Guides Grounds, near Old DC’s Office in city.

Announcing this at a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan in city this morning, Canine Club of Mysore President B.P. Manjunath said that nearly 500 dogs are expected to participate in the event for which Derrick Seow from Malaysia, M.R. Manjunath from Bengaluru and C.V. Sudarshan will be the judges.

Pointing out that breeds such as Miniature Pinscher weighing 3 kg and over 100 kg weighing breeds such as Saint Bernard, Great Dane, English Mastiff, Bulldog and other breeds such as Siberian Huskey, Golden Retriever, Labrador, German Shephered, Pug, Chow Chow and Boxer, Indian breeds such as Mudhol, Comboy and Rajapalyam will be participating in the show, Manjunath said that Bichon Frisé from France, Gerberian Shepsky from USA and Border Collie from the United Kingdom will also be taking part in the show.

He further said that dog owners willing to participate in the Dog Show should register online by logging on to www.dogsnshows.com and should have the dog’s family tree certificate obtained from KCI.

All dogs should be microchipped and should display the registration number during inspection of the dogs at the main gate.

Sick dogs displaying aggressiveness, anger and biting judges will be disqualified and no double handling of dogs is allowed. Only one person should display the dog and the dogs should be trained for the show earlier, added Manjunath, a known dog- lover who cares for both exotic and stray dogs. He has been instrumental in organising various dog shows and events in Mysuru.
