Sir,
Every evening, I make it a habit to go for a walk, enjoying the fresh air and a peaceful environment. Today, I chose to visit the renowned Chamundi Vihar Stadium, expecting a clean, well-maintained space suitable for fitness enthusiasts, families and children.
However, to my surprise, the reality was quite disappointing. Apart from the red athletic track — which still stands out as the only well-kept area — the rest of the stadium showed clear signs of neglect. Bushes and dry leaves were scattered everywhere, giving the stadium an unkempt and abandoned look.
For a facility of such size and importance, it is disheartening to see the lack of maintenance. There seems to be no dedicated effort toward cleaning or ensuring basic hygiene. The toilets, too, were in an unhygienic condition, making them unusable for visitors.
What is more concerning is the lack of safety measures, especially for women and children who frequently visit the stadium. Proper supervision and security presence were completely missing.
Additionally, instead of collecting and disposing of garbage responsibly, some workers were burning waste on the premises, creating health and environmental hazards.
Chamundi Vihar Stadium is a valuable public asset and it deserves proper care. I hope that the authorities concerned take immediate action to improve cleanliness, enhance safety and restore the stadium to the standard it is meant to uphold.
