Chaos reigns on Nrupatunga Road in Kuvempunagar. The stretch of road from Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) commercial complex junction and extending till Kuvempunagar bus depot, is lined with shops on both sides. It is very busy in the evenings with hectic shopping activities and vehicular movement.
Besides being full of big, dangerous potholes and craters, the road lacks pavements. The full stretch and small stretches of pavements, wherever present is encroached upon by the shop owners or used as parking lots.
This forces the pedestrians to hit the road. The parking areas are not marked for two and four-wheelers, resulting in haphazard and mindless parking of vehicles. The utter disregard in following traffic rules is causing a lot of inconvenience and annoyance to the public. The city administration and the Traffic Police seem to have turned a blind eye in this regard.
I request the authorities concerned to take note and initiate suitable action at the earliest.
