Charging of power line: Villagers cautioned

With the KPTCL all set to charge the 1×8 MVA Kadakola – Jayapura High Tension Power Line that passes through Udbur, D. Salundi, Jayapura, Taripura, Kallahalli and Dhanagalli villages on or after Jan. 27, the residents of these villages are cautioned against tying of cattle to electric towers, removal of metal strips, climbing of towers, touching of power lines, growing plants and shrubs under towers, flying of kites in the vicinity of towers etc. The villagers are warned against doing any such acts as they pose a serious threat to life and may also result in fatalities, according to a press release from the KPTCL Executive Engineer (Major Works Division). The release further said that KPTCL cannot be held responsible for any mishaps, loss of life or injuries caused by any ignorance or violation of warning.
