Mysuru: A woman has lodged a complaint with the Vidyaranyapuram Police accusing her tenant of cheating her to the tune of Rs. 1.50 crore on the promise of making her a partner in the medical and surgical supplies firm. Vijayalakshmi, a resident of fourth main, Vidyaranyapuram, in her complaint to the Vidyaranyapuram Police said that she had let out on rent a commercial space to one Nagaprasad, who ran M.B. Pharma Medical-Surgical company. After some days, Nagaprasad, promising to make her a partner in his company, received Rs. 50 lakh from her. But Nagaprasad did not give any document as proof of having received the money nor having made her a partner.
Later, as she was in need of money, she asked Nagaprasad to get a loan after pledging her house in Vijayanagar, when Nagaprasad after obtaining her signature on a paper, clandestinely sold off her house for Rs. 79 lakh, thus cheating her. He once again cheated her by paying only Rs. 6.80 lakh after pledging her 960gm gold jewellery with a pawn broker for Rs. 20 lakh, Vijayalakshmi said in her complaint.
