‘Cheeni Mamanige Ondu Dina’ programme on July 28

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of ‘Ranga Taaregala Nenapu’ programme, city based Nalwadi Social, Cultural and Educational Trust has organised ‘Cheeni Mamanige Ondu Dina’ on July 28 at 5.30 pm at Halemane Angala, Kalamandira in the city.

Announcing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan in city recently, Trust President Dinesh Chammalige said that Senior artiste Shivaji Rao Jadhav will inaugurate the event which will feature theatre songs.

Former Rangayana Director H. Janaradhan (Jenni) will preside.  Kannada and Culture Department Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, B.M. Ramachandra and Nanda Halemane will be the guests.

A play titled ‘Shareefa,’ written and directed by Manjunath Belekere, will also be staged on the occasion, said  Dinesh Chammalige.

Srinivas Bhat, fondly called as Cheeni Mama, was associated with Rangayana since its inception as music teacher and continued to teach even after retiring officially till he passed away, aged 63, on Jan. 25, 2023.
