Mysore/Mysuru: Krishne, the Dance School will be presenting ‘Chegire Varsham 2025,’ a Cultural Extravaganza at Jaganmohan Palace Auditorium in city on Nov. 29 at 5.30 pm.
Dr. M.D. Sudarshan, Assistant Director, Kannada & Culture Department, Mysuru; Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra, Bharatanatyam Exponent and Director, Nrityalaya Trust, Mysuru and Shivraj K.R. Pete, Cine Actor, will be the chief guests.

On the occasion, H. Janardhan (Janni), Singer and former Director of Rangayana, Mysuru and Vidu. C.S. Lakshmi, Karnatak Vocal Exponent, Mysuru, will be honoured in recognition of their remarkable achievement in the field of art.
Profiles
H. Janardhan is a distinguished figure in Indian theatre with over four decades of dedicated involvement. Emerging from the Dalit movement and community theatre, he has championed theatre as a tool for social awareness and change, earning the title ‘Janamana’s Janni.’
A graduate of the National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi, he has worked extensively as a director, singer, actor, music director and educator, training actors and organising cultural programmes across Karnataka and India. His stage and street plays, renowned for their social impact, have been performed nationally, while his poetry experiments have enriched Kannada literary tradition.
As a key contributor to Rangayana and the literacy movement, he continues to inspire through community theatre, cultural activism and youth engagement, fostering social responsibility and artistic excellence.
Vidu. C.S. Lakshmi, a renowned Karnatak vocalist from Mysuru, is widely celebrated for her exceptional talent and significant contributions to the world of classical music. Over the course of more than 40 years, she has dedicated herself to teaching music to visually challenged children, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to spreading the joy and richness of Karnatak music to those in need.
In addition to her teaching, she has also lent her melodious and expressive voice to numerous Bharatanatyam concerts, beautifully complementing the dance with her vocal accompaniment and winning the admiration of audiences and critics alike. Her artistry, compassion and dedication have left an indelible mark on the musical community, making her a true beacon of inspiration and excellence in the field of Indian classical music.
Chegire Varsham 2025
‘Chegire Varsham’ meaning The Beautiful Year (Sundara Varusha), is a symbolic evening that is marked to celebrate the richness and diversity of Indian art and culture. The evening shall be slated with ‘Samarpanam,’ a traditional Bharatanatyam recital by the disciples of Vidushi Dimple, Artistic Director, Krishne, the Dance School [Mob: 99809-54187].
Conceptualised in 2006, Krishne is a voluntary cultural organisation striving to promote a healthy and favourable environment for the growth of Indian art and artistic talents. Krishne, being an Art Forum, not only provides a platform for Indian Classical dance but also works towards the spread of all art forms, both performing and visual.
