Mysuru: The new Convention Hall constructed by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) at Hebbal 2nd Stage near Sankranti Circle at a cost of about Rs. 3 crore will be dedicated to the public on Mar.10.
The convention hall named as Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Convention Hall is next to the old Samudaya Bhavan.
The hall can accommodate more than 500 people at a time and can be used for weddings, engagements and other functions. The hall measures about 9096 sq.ft. and a stage for the marriage ceremony can easily be built. There are two rooms for the bride and the groom on either side of the stage.
In the second floor, there are four rooms and two common bathrooms. In the cellar, which is about 8068 sq.ft. there is a dining hall, kitchen, four store rooms and separate area for cleaning vessels. At a time, 400 people can eat in the dining hall.
There is also ample parking space for vehicles. The work on the building was completed in one-and-a-half years. Even the Samudaya Bhavan belonging to the MUDA is being renovated.
The residents of Hebbal now need not have to go far in search of choultries to hold functions.
