Mysuru: Claiming that the State’s APMC online marketing system was a model to the entire country, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah has said that the State Government is planning to make e-transactions in APMCs. He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Raitha Santhe’ building, constructed by MUDA in Vijayanagar 2nd stage here, yesterday.
Pointing out that the State Government has introduced online marketing in 160 APMCs across the State, he said that the online marketing of Agricultural Produce is a revolutionary step of sorts.
Pointing out that the MUDA, which has constructed the building, has let it out to the APMC on a monthly rent of Rs. 70,000, Siddharamaiah said that he would look into the APMC petition seeking a reduction in rent.
Noting that the new ‘Raitha Santhe’ building is a boon to the farmers, he urged the vendors to stop street vending and do business in this building.
The Chief Minister also launched Solid Waste Management unit and Cleaning, Grading and Packing unit at the site on the occasion.
District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, MLA G.T. Devegowda, former MLA Satyanarayan, MLC R. Dharmasena and others were present on the occasion.
