Mysuru: A case has been registered against 12 persons at Metagalli Police Station in connection with a child marriage that took place a year ago.
In July 2023, a 16-year-old girl was forced into child marriage at a village coming under Metagalli Police limits. The girl, who is housed in Balamandira, was counselled during which the child marriage came to light.
In this backdrop, the Supervisor at the Child Development Project Officer’s Office had lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, Metagalli Police have registered a case against 12 persons including the youth who had married the girl, his parents, relatives and the girl’s parents. The case is being investigated.
