Mysuru: A huge number of children were seen gathered at Kuvempunagar Police Station here yesterday.
Passersby were left wondering whether the children assembled were juvenile delinquents and if so how could so many could be rounded up in one shot.
In fact the children were not juvenile delinquents but innocent kids brought to the Police Station to get more information about Police personnel who are usually dreaded by children. Parents normally threaten their kids that they would be handed over to Police if they fail to eat or go to school.
That usually creates an apprehension and fear psychosis among children about the Police.
To get over that fear, children of ‘Arivu’ organisation in Lingambudi Palya here were brought to the Police Station and made to interact with Police Personnel.
The children got all their misconceptions cleared about Police and satiated their innocent inquisitiveness. Sitting close to the Police, the kids got heir fear over Police removed from their mind.
Assistant Police Sub-Inspector G. Anusha interacted with the children making them aware that Police like parents would punish only those who commit crimes.
The kids with satisfaction writ large on their faces later left the Police Station happily.
