Children’s Dasara from Oct.5 to 7: ‘World Record Holder’ Child Prodigy H.S. Mahesh Kumar is special invitee

Mysuru: H.S. Mahesh Kumar, a Class VII student of Purna Chetana School in city, has been selected as the special invitee child talent chief guest for this year’s Children’s Dasara inaugural event which will be held on Oct. 6 at Kalamandira.

He was selected during Dasara Sub-Committee meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy recently and an official invitation was sent to Mahesh Kumar on Sept. 20.

Mahesh Kumar, who is currently offered free education in Purna Chetana School, participated in the individual category in the World Record event conducted by Elite World Record Academy, Asian Academy, India Records on July 27 and spoke about the birth, raise, life, achievements and contributions of  Swami Vivekananda for 14  hours and 2 minutes. He created a World Record under the category of the longest lecture series on Swami Vivekananda by an individual (minor male).

Originally from a small village called Hanumanalu near Bannur in Mysuru district, he is the son of Somasekhara and Tayamma, a farmer couple. He attended Hanumanalu Government School from Class 1 to 5. Since his childhood, he was very good at public speaking skills and he studied a lot about Swami Vivekananda. His talent was first nurtured by his Primary School Teacher Tanuja.

Purna Chetana School Chief Executive Officer B. Darshan Raj, who noticed his talent, provided free education to him in the school with necessary support.

This young genius of 12 is a true admirer of Vivekananda and aims to adopt his ideals in his life and spread them to others.
