Chinara Mela sends wishes to ‘Nari Shakti’

Mysuru, Apr.25- At a programme held on Apr.14 at Rangayana, the tiny-tots of the Chinnara Mela have conveyed their best wishes to Team Nari Shakti-2018.

About 400 kids of the Chinnara Mela wished the trekkers which is a first-of-its-kind from the Karnataka State which is going to ascend the Mount Baradasar Lake which lies between the Rupin and Supin Valley on the Uttarakhand and the Himachal Border.  

On the occasion, the kids gave roses to the trekkers. Speaking on the occasion, Bhagirathi Bai Kadam, Director of Rangayana, said this is the rare opportunity  to see so many housewives, professionals and students in the team and she wished the team all the best.

It is pertinent to mention that this is an exclusive female team from the State to ascend the Mt.Baradasar Pass. Earlier, Mallikarjunaswamy Joint Director, Rangayana, gave a brief gist of the programme to the audience. M. Nirmala, a trekker of Nari Shakti-2018, spoke about Mission Nari Shakti-2018.

Trekkers Training culminates with Josh Run: The training of the trekkers of the Nari Shakti -2018, which is organised by Tiger Adventure Foundation (TAF), culminated with the Josh Run being run by the trekkers covering a distance of 9kms. The run was flagged of by Vipul Kumar, Inspector General of Police and Director, Karnataka Police Academy, Mysuru and M.M. Hutchaiah, Deputy Conservator of Forest (Vigilance), Mysuru, on Apr.14 at Jayalakshmipuram.

Apart from the Nari Shakti-2018, Yuva Shakti and Tri Shakti teams also participated in the run actively.  The run was coordinated by Vinay Singh, a fitness trainer and trekker.
