Mysuru: To discuss development of the Heritage City, ‘Vision Mysuru-2030,’ a two-day symposium will be organised by Chintakara Chavadi at Ganabharathi in Kuvempunagar here on Aug. 12 and 13.
Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Chavadi Founder and former MLC D. Madegowda said that the objective of the symposium is to ensure sustainable development of the city which is known for its heritage, culture and beauty. He said that Mysuru kingdom was a role model for other provinces during the rule of Wadiyars as it was a planned city. In recent years however, the city has been developing in an unplanned way.
Stating that the outcome of the symposium will be documented and submitted to the authorities concerned for further consideration, he said prominent personalities, who are well aware about Mysuru, its culture and tradition will conduct technical sessions on further developing the city.
Legal expert Dr. C.K.N. Raja, former VC of Kuvempu University Prof. P. Venkataramaiah, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. M.R. Ravi, Prof. Yeshwanth Dongre, DCP Law & Order N. Vishnuvardhana, Prof. K.S. Nagapathi and others will present technical papers on ‘Mysuru Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’, ‘Planned Development and Housing’, ‘Cleanliness and Solid Waste Management’, ‘Internal Transport’, ‘Law and Order’, ‘Industries and Employment Generation’, ‘Role of Youths.’
Swami Nityastanandaji of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, will inaugurate the event. Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep will be the chief guest. Madegowda will preside. Journalist Ravindra Bhat will deliver the valedictory address. District Cooperative Union President H.V. Rajeev will be the chief guest.
