Mysuru: The two-day Chunchanakatte Jalapathotsava will be held at K.R. Nagar on Sept. 9 and 10, said MLA S.R. Mahesh.
Addressing a preliminary meeting with the taluk-level officials on Saturday last, the MLA said that River Cauvery water will not be wasted as water released through graphite power generation station will be used for Jalapathotsava and added that the event would be held at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh.
District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa will also be present at the Jalapathotsava to be inaugurated by actor-couple Yash and Radhika Pandit on Sept. 9.
A documentary on ancient temples, Jain basadis, churches and mosques would be screened at the venue.
The valedictory will witness actors Sudeep and Puneeth Rajkumar gracing the occasion besides cultural programmes by famous artistes.
“This year, we are expecting more visitors for which adequate transport facility would be provided apart from drinking water, ambulance and hospital facilities. Police personnel and Fire and Emergency staff too would be deployed at the venue,” the MLA added.
