Mysuru: Director General of Police (DGP) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Pavanjeet Singh Sandhu (P.S. Sandhu) is in city.
The DGP, said to be on a private visit, arrived in city with his family members this morning and was received by City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh, Superintendent of Police (SP) Seema Latkar and other Police officers at the DG Guest House (DG Suite), opposite the SP Office in Nazarbad. Sources said the DGP, along with his family members, will go to Kabini in the afternoon.
The CID DGP’s visit to Mysuru assumes significance as the CID took over Santro Ravi’s case and even taking the three accused into their custody for more questioning. The DGP is said to have held discussions with City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh, SP Seema Latkar, DCP (Law and Order) M. Muthuraj and NR Sub-Division ACP M. Shivashankar, who was the Investigating Officer in Santro Ravi’s case before the case was tranferred to the CID by the State Government.
Meanwhile, the four-member CID team, led by Dy.SP Narasimhamurthy, visited Odanadi, a rehabilitation centre on Hunsur Road in Hootagalli here, where the victim (said to be Santro Ravi’s 2nd wife) is sheltered and spoke with her besides collecting information pertaining to the complaints and documents produced by her to the Police.
