Mysuru: A five-day training-cum-workshop on Testing & Evaluation and Item writing for the Research Scholars of the University of Mysore was held at National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) of Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru, recently.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the workshop, Prof. P. Rozario Dharmesh Fernandez, Professor-cum-Deputy Director of CIIL, said that teaching, learning and evaluation are the three most important pillars of education.
Stating that the present workshop is very exclusive, he said this training programme presents a unique opportunity to the teachers to upgrade their knowledge in the area of language testing and evaluation.
Pankaj Dwivedi, Officer In-charge of NTS-I, welcomed and briefed about the activities of the NTS-I. Prof. A. Murigeppa, former Vice-Chancellor of Kannada University, Hampi; Prof. L.N. Aurora and Prof. Yashodhara, former Professors of University of Mysore; Prof. K.R. Durgadas, Professor of Kannada, Karnatak University, Dharwad, trained the participants along with NTS-I faculties Dr. V. Ilangovan, Dr. Biresh Kumar, Dr. G.M. Ansari, Dr. Md. Rizwan, Dr. Md. Saleem, Dr. R. Shakunthala, Dr. Sanjay Prasad Srivastava. Dr. V. Ilangovan, SRP, NTS-I, coordinated the workshop under the guidance of Pankaj Dwivedi, Officer-in-charge, NTS-I. Prof. D. G. Rao, Director, CIIL, was the overall patron of the workshop. About 40 research scholars from Mysore University participated.
