Sir,
On Mar.5, due to the traffic diversion from Hunsur Road, the junction in front of the level crossing witnessed a gridlock. No Traffic Cops were present, and the only Traffic Warden reached late on the scene.
A few citizens took up the task of traffic management, raising their voice against impatient drivers and tolerating abuses, to let an ambulance pass.
Yes, we can lament on the lack of coordination between authorities (as evident from them destroying a newly-laid road), or the lack of traffic management. But, we as citizens of Mysuru can show more patience, instead of honking, hurling abuses and trying to run over the other. Our destinations inside the city aren’t that far away, our roads are wide and traffic keeps moving at a steady pace.
I’m glad a few Mysureans rose up to the occasion, and took on the task of trying to instil some common sense, though they were outnumbered in size and number by their fellow drivers and riders.
