Mysore/Mysuru: Five months ahead of its National Meet to take place at Bengaluru from Jan.18 to 22, 2023, the CITU (Centre of Indian Trade Unions) launched the poster for the meet here on Wednesday.
Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, CITU District President Balajirao said that a reception committee has been formed for the National Meet. K. Subbarao has been named as the Honorary President of the Committee, S. Varalakshmi as Working President, Amanulla Khan as President, Meenakshi Sundaram as General Secretary and Parameshwar as Treasurer.
Pointing out that the National Meet (Jan.18 to 22) will take place at Bengaluru’s Palace Grounds, Balajirao said that eminent personalities such as Hamsalekha, Dr. Baragur Ramachandrappa, Prof. G.S. Siddaramaiah, Dr. L. Hanumanthaiah, Dr. R. Poornima and B. Basavalingaiah will function as Advisors.
Noting that more than 1,500 delegates from across the country are expected to take part, he said that there will be some foreign delegates too who will take part out of goodwill. The five-day meet will discuss various issues including anti-people policies of the Union Government, spiralling inflation and other socio-economic issues, he added.
Balajirao further said that the CITU’s Mysuru District meet will take place at Nanjangud on Sept.17 and 18 and the three-day State-level meet ahead of the National Meet,will be held at Kundapur in Udupi district from Nov.15 to 17.
CITU Office-bearers Jayaram, Annappa, Shivakumar and Naveen were present at the press meet.
