City artist upholds cultural heritage across world

Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. Prashanth, an artist from city, has been actively displaying his artworks related to cultural heritage of Karnataka across the world to introduce the State’s culture among various people.

A resident of Gayathri Layout, Shankaranagar in city, Prashanth holds a Doctorate from the Kuvempu University, Shivamogga, for his research work on the History of Sringeri.

So far, he has displayed his art works in various countries including London, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Maldives, Dubai and Singapore.

Dr. Prashanth has also atte-nded several International seminars and presented research papers on Indian cultural values. He has presented a paper on ‘Contribution of Adi Shankara’s Philosophy relating to global peace and harmony’ at the ‘Indian Sanskrit Conference’ organised by International Cultural Fest Council of India at Singapore. 

He has displayed his artworks related to Vidyaranya, Jagadguru of Sringeri Sharada Peetham who helped establish the Vijayanagara Empire sometime in 1336, at the 36th International Cultural Fest organised by International Cultural Fest Council of India and Sandhya Creations Event Network Team at the Indian Consulate Auditorium, in Dubai on Jan. 21.

He will exhibit wall-picture of Vidyaranya and art work of Adi Shankaracharya in meditating pose at the International Cultural Festival of India to be held at the Indian Community Hall in Tokyo, Japan on Apr. 8. It will be his 11th international tour. Speaking to Star of Mysore,  Dr. Prashanth said that he has dedicated himself to spread and uphold the cultural heritage and values of the motherland (India) across the world.
