Mysore/Mysuru: Mantralayam Seer Sri Subudhendra Teertha Swamiji presented ‘Mantralayam Parimala Award-2024’ instituted by Sri Mantralayam Srikshetra in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh to Dr. K. Kumar, Professor of Bharatanatyam and Head of the Dance Department at the University College of Fine Arts, University of Mysore and the Founder-Director of Kumar Performing Arts Centre (KPAC), Mysuru, during the awards ceremony held recently.
On the occasion, the award was conferred on 30 eminent individuals who have served tirelessly and achieved remarkable accomplishments in various fields.
Dr. Kumar, a renowned international Bharatanatyam and classical music artiste, was honoured for his four decades of dedicated service in the respective fields nationally and internationally.
During the event, Dr. Kumar’s daughters, known as Kalemane Sisters (K.M. Lekha and K.M. Nidhi) enthralled the audience with their Bharatanatyam performances along with their father, earning the admiration and applause of art enthusiasts who filled the auditorium.
